Lign vs CapCut

alignment is the bottleneck CapCut leaves to you

CapCut is the universal video editor. Its morph and transition templates are great, when the frames already line up. Lign aligns them.

Where CapCut stops

CapCut transitions and morph templates assume the source frames are already anchored. They are not. The wedding sunglasses trend, pet glow-ups, family flipbooks: every viral CapCut format requires hand-aligned input frames.

Where Lign starts

Lign aligns frames. Then you bring them into CapCut for the audio cut, transition timing, or color grade, or just export the morph video directly from Lign.

I took 53 photos, each photo at 0.1 seconds & duplicated until they aligned with the sound.

Looking for something that provides a shadow of the 'before' photo so you can line up your after photo before taking it.

Alignment points need a better system to move about, they're hard to find and see unless your fingers are like pins.

CapCut is good. It’s the universal mobile video editor and it covers ground Lign has no plan to cover: multi-track timelines, color grading, full audio editing, transition catalogs.

What CapCut does not do is align photos. The morph transition template only works on frames that already share an anchor. The wedding-sunglasses-trend creator who told 3 million TikTok viewers she “took 53 photos at 0.1 seconds and duplicated until they aligned with the sound” was using CapCut. She had to do the alignment manually, frame by frame, tap by tap, because CapCut’s transition does not solve that part.

Lign solves it. Drop your photos into Lign, pick the anchor (face, eyes, sunglasses, object), and Lign exports an aligned video. From there: post directly, or import into CapCut for the audio cut and color pass. Two tools, two jobs.

CapCut for the timeline. Lign for the alignment.
